- George Jamesone (* 18. Februar 1587 oder 1588 in Aberdeen; † vor dem 11. Dezember 1644 in Edinburgh) war ein schottischer Porträt- und Miniaturmaler. Jamesone (spr. dschehms'n), malte besonders Bildnisse, die sich durch lebendige Auffassung und fleißige Durchführung auszeichnen, daneben auch Landschaften und Historien, teils in Öl, teils Miniatur. Der Magistrat von Edinburgh ließ von ihm eine Reihe schottischer Könige malen, als Karl I. 1633 Schottland besuchte. In Schottland sind viele Adelssitze mit Familienbildern von Jamesone geschmückt. - George JAMESONE aŭ JAMESON (naskiĝis ĉirkaŭ 1587 - m. en 1644) estis skota portretisto. Li naskiĝis en Aberdeen, kie lia patro estis arkitekto kaj membro de la pentrista ligo. Post la studado de pentrado ĉe Petro Paŭlo Rubens en Antverpeno (kie Antoon van Dyck estis lia kunlernanto), Jamesone revenis en 1620 al Aberdeen, kie li edziĝis en 1624. Tie li restis almenaŭ ĝis 1630, kiam li transloĝiĝis al Edinburgo. Li estis dungita de la magistratoj de Edinburgo por kopii plurajn portretojn de skotaj reĝoj, cele al ilia prezento antaŭ Karlo la 1-a de Anglio okaze de lia unua vizito al Skotlando en 1633.
