- Das Genfer Internationale Zentrum für Humanitäre Minenräumung ist eine internationale Organisation, die sich für die Beseitigung von Antipersonenminen und den humanitären Auswirkungen anderer Landminen und explosiver Kriegsmunitionsrückstände einsetzt. Seine Rechtsform ist eine Stiftung mit Sitz in der Schweiz. Es wurde im April 1998 von der Schweiz und anderen Staaten gegründet und schloss 2003 mit der Schweizer Regierung ein Sitzabkommen ab, das ihm Unabhängigkeit und Handlungsfreiheit garantiert. Ungefähr 20 Staaten und internationale Organisationen finanzieren das Zentrum, das mehr als 40 Angestellte hat. Das GICHD sieht sich den humanitären Prinzipien von Menschlichkeit, Unparteilichkeit, Neutralität und Unabhängigkeit verpflichtet. (de)
- The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD; French: Centre international de déminage humanitaire - CIDHG) is an international organisation working in mine action and explosive ordnance risk reduction, with a focus on landmines, cluster munitions and ammunition stockpiles. Based in the Maison de la paix in Geneva, it is legally a non-profit foundation in Switzerland. It was established by Switzerland and several other countries in April 1998. In March 2003, the GICHD concluded a status agreement with the Swiss Government guaranteeing its independence and freedom of action. The Centre has over 60 staff members and is financially supported by more than 30 governments and organisations. (en)
