- Gökçedam (früher Hemite) ist ein Dorf im zentralen Landkreis der türkischen Provinz Osmaniye. Der Ort liegt am Fluss Ceyhan am Nordostrand der Çukurova-Ebene, am Fuß der Dibek Dağları, etwa 20 km nordwestlich der Provinzhauptstadt Osmaniye. Gökçedam hatte 2014 eine Einwohnerzahl von 717, eine Grundschule ist im Ort vorhanden. Hemite ist der Geburtsort des türkischen Schriftstellers Yaşar Kemal. Die Einwohner leben von der Landwirtschaft. Früher war Transhumanz die vorherrschende Bewirtschaftungsform. (de)
- Gökçedam (also known as Hemite) is a village in the central district of Osmaniye province, Turkey. It was the birthplace of the famous Kurdish novelist Yaşar Kemal. It's most conspicuous feature is a plug of rock in the centre of the village with a ruined castle perched on its summit. The Ceyhan river passes the outskirts of the village and there is a waterside park with a small museum to Yaşar Kemal (not always open). (en)
