- Froschgrundsee also known as Schönstädtspeicher is a retention basin to protect the city of Coburg in Bavaria from the flooding of the Itz, Effelder, and the Grümpen. It lies in the municipality of Rödental in Upper Franconia. Froschgrundsee was completed in 1986 after four years of construction and cost 43 million DM in operations. (en)
- Der Froschgrundsee, auch Schönstädtspeicher genannt, ist ein Hochwasserrückhaltebecken zum Schutz der Stadt Coburg in Bayern vor dem Hochwasser von Itz, Effelder und Grümpen. Er liegt im Gebiet der ehemaligen Gemeinde Froschgrund in Oberfranken, die 1978 nach Rödental eingegliedert wurde, und ragt bei Hochwasseraufstauung zu einem Drittel in den Landkreis Sonneberg in Thüringen, vor der Wende also in das Gebiet der DDR, hinein. Die Planung erforderte daher Absprachen mit der DDR und wurde als „innerdeutsches Modellprojekt“ angesehen. Der Froschgrundsee wurde 1986 nach vier Jahren Bauzeit und mit 43 Millionen DM Kosten in Betrieb genommen. (de)
