- Die Fantasie No. 4 in c-Moll, Köchelverzeichnis 475, ist ein am 20. Mai 1785 in Wien geschriebenes Klavierstück von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Veröffentlicht wurde es als Opus 11 im Dezember 1785 zusammen mit der Klaviersonate Nr. 14 KV 457, im Wiener Musikverlag Artaria, welcher seit jeher als Mozarts Stammverleger galt. Das Stück beginnt in der Tonart c-Moll, in einem ruhigen Adagio. Über eine kurze Passage in D-Dur wechselt die Musik in ein Allegro, welches über a-Moll, g-Moll und F-Dur in f-Moll endet. Fortgesetzt wird das Stück in einem Andantino in B-Dur, welches schnell in ein più allegro in g-Moll übergeht. Final wechselt das Stück wieder über einige Läufe in die Ursprungstonart c-Moll. Es folgen einige Wiederholungen im Hauptthema, bis das Stück in einem Forte endet. Das Stück gilt, wie viele Klavierkompositionen von Mozart, als äußerst anspruchsvoll. Des Weiteren gilt das Stück als eine von Mozarts bekanntesten Fantasien. Das Autograph der Fantasie entdeckte eine Bibliothekarin 1990 beim Staubwischen in Philadelphia. Über Sotheby’s gelangte die Handschrift in den Besitz der Internationalen Stiftung Mozarteum. (de)
- Fantasia No. 4 in C minor, K. 475 is a piece of music for solo piano composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Vienna on 20 May 1785. It was published as Opus 11, in December 1785, together with the Sonata in C minor, K. 457, the only one of Mozart's piano sonatas to be published together with a work of a different genre. Starting in the key of C minor, the piece is marked Adagio but then, after a section in D major, moves into an allegro section which goes from A minor to G minor, F major, and then F minor. It then moves into a fourth section in B♭ major marked Andantino and then moves to a più allegro section starting in G minor and modulating through many keys before the opening theme returns in the original key of C minor. Most of the music is written with no sharps or flats in the key signature and uses accidentals—only the fourth section, in B♭ major, is given a key signature. The Austrian composer Ignaz von Seyfried combined this work with the Sonata in C minor, K. 457 and produced a four-movement arrangement for orchestra, the "Grande Fantaisie" in C minor. (en)

- La fantasia in Do minore K 475 fu completata da Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart nel maggio del 1785 e viene di norma proposta come introduzione alla sonata per pianoforte K 457. Diversamente da precedenti composizioni dell'autore questa fantasia è stata espressamente concepita per il fortepiano e non per clavicembalo come molte altre composizioni precedenti che poi per questo strumento venivano trascritte: ne consegue che le sonorità sono specificatamente pianistiche. Mozart sfrutta le varietà timbriche dello strumento e vi inserisce particolari effetti cromatici. La fantasia K 475 e la sonata K 457, ambedue in Do minore, vennero dedicate (secondo quanto riferì la vedova Constanze Weber), alla signora Therese von Trattner, allieva del maestro sin dal 1782. Pare che in una lettera andata perduta il compositore suggerisse l'esecuzione della fantasia quale prologo della anzidetta sonata. Entrambi i lavori hanno infatti uno stretto legame costituito non solo dalla tonalità ma dall'atmosfera, dalla inquietudine e dalla sofferenza che li accomuna. La fantasia si articola in cinque tempi riconoscibili all'ascoltatore e che alternano tempi lenti a veloci (adagio, allegro, andantino, più allegro, adagio) mentre la conclusione riprende il materiale iniziale con variazioni minime. Tutta composizione ha di conseguenza un andamento ciclico. Il motivo iniziale (adagio) è basato sull'accordo fondamentale e ricorda il tema presente nel Kyrie della Missa solemnis K 139 scritto quando Mozart aveva dodici anni e continua su temi la cui tonalità si allontana sempre più da quella di base per soffermarsi su un lungo episodio lirico in Re maggiore. Segue un allegro dai toni drammatici e una andantino ad un tempo lirico e scuro con repentini cambiamenti di dinamica. Il più allegro continua il materiale dell'andantino in una atmosfera diversa sino a proporre frasi brevi e spezzate che conducono al secondo adagio. Il materiale iniziale è ripreso con armonie che conferiscono al pezzo toni tetri. Quando lo svolgimento sembra concludersi in modo rassegnato si ha un guizzo finale che rinvia la risoluzione delle tensioni (lasciandone forse il prosieguo alla sonata). (it)
