- Die European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS) ist eine internationale Gesellschaft für theoretische Informatik mit Schwerpunkt Europa, die 1972 gegründet wurde. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern gehören Maurice Nivat, Jaco de Bakker, Corrado Böhm, Mike Paterson.Die Organisation vergibt jährlich den EATCS-Award, geben die Zeitschriften Bulletin of the EATCS und Theoretical Computer Science (TCS, 1975 gegründet und bei Elsevier erscheinend) heraus und Monographien über Informatik (Reihen Texts in Theoretical Computer Science, Monographs in Theoretical Computer Science). Mit der Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computation Theory (SIGACT) vergeben sie den Gödel-Preis (benannt nach Kurt Gödel) und mit dem ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing (PODC) den Dijkstra-Preis (benannt nach Edsger W. Dijkstra). Außerdem gibt es Preise für beste Arbeiten und den Presburger Award für Nachwuchswissenschaftler (seit 2010, benannt nach Mojżesz Presburger, der als Student die Presburger-Arithmetik 1929 fand). Sie organisieren seit 1972 eine jährliche Konferenzserie International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP), deren Konferenzbände seit 1976 in den Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) im Springer Verlag erscheinen. Sie haben eine italienische und französische sowie eine japanische Unterorganisation (mit EATCS Mitgliedern der jeweiligen Länder) und sind mit der (EACSL), der Computability in Europe (CiE) und international mit der ACM SIGACT verbunden. Its aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and results among theoretical computer scientists as well as to stimulate cooperation between the theoretical and the practical community in computer science. The major activities of the EATCS are:
* Organization of ICALP, the International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming;
* Publication of the Bulletin of the EATCS;
* Publication of a series of monographs and texts on theoretical computer science;
* Publication of the journal Theoretical Computer Science;

- La European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS, en castellano «Asociación europea para la informática teórica») es una organización internacional fundada en 1972, cuyo objetivo es facilitar el intercambio de ideas y resultados entre informáticos teóricos, así como estimular la cooperación entre las comunidades teórica y práctica de ciencias de la computación. Las principales actividades de la EATCS son:
* Organizar el (International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming, o Coloquio Internacional de Autómatas, Lenguajes y Programación);
* Publicar una serie de monogramas y textos relacionadas con ciencias de la computación;
* Publicar el Boletín de la EATCS;
* Publicar la revista científica Theoretical Computer Science. Cada año, el EATC entrega un premio (el EATCS Award) en reconocimiento a una carrera distinguida en las ciencias de la computación teórica. El primer premio fue otorgado a Richard Karp en 2000, y la lista completa de galardonados desde entonces es la siguiente: Adicionalmente, la EATCS también otorga, junto con la Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) el premio Premio Gödel, otorgado anualmente desde 1993.
