- Euclid is a CAD software which has been developed since 1970. Initially written by Jean Marc Brun and Michel Théron at Laboratoire d'informatique pour la mécanique et les sciences de l'ingénieur (LIMSI) for modelling fluid flow, they founded their own company, Datavision in 1979 and then sold a controlling interest in 1980 to the French company Matra Datavision. Matra then developed EUCLID QUANTUM, a new generation in 1996, on the CAS.CADE (Computer Aided Software for Computer Aided Design and Engineering) platform. As in 1998 Matra Datavision specialized in software service provider, Dassault Systèmes acquired QUANTUM products : Euclid Styler and Euclid Machinist. In 1999 Matra Datavision published CAS.CADE in open source on the Internet as Open CASCADE later renamed to Open CASCADE Technology. The BRL-CAD CAD software imports and exports to the EUCLID file format. (en)
- Euclid est un logiciel de CAO 3D, initié et développé en Fortran par Dr Jean-Marc Brun au CNRS à la fin des années 1960 puis industrialisé par la société Datavision qu'il fonde avec Alain Nicolaïdis et Michel Théron en janvier 1979. Rachetée par Matra en octobre 1980, la société Matra-Datavision développe alors le logiciel Euclid puis Euclid-IS puis Euclid-Quantum avec son nouveau moteur géométrique Cascade. Euclid devient notamment le logiciel de CAO principal de Renault dans les années 1980. A l'issue de près de 30 années de développements industriels, les travaux logiciels s'arrêtent en 1998 par le rachat du logiciel par Dassault Systèmes. (fr)
- Euclid – jeden z najstarszych zintegrowanych systemów CAD/CAM/CAE. Euclid został stworzony przez francuską firmę Matra Datavision (część koncernu Matra). Po powstaniu wersji Euclid Quantum (następcy Euclida 3) został wykupiony przez IBM oraz Dassault Systèmes i wykorzystany do stworzenia systemu CATIA v5 (następcy CATIA v4). Na początku swojego istnienia Euclid dostępny był wyłącznie na stacje graficzne m.in. Silicon Graphics z systemem operacyjnym UNIX. Następnie przeniesiono ten potężny system na komputery PC z systemem operacyjnym MS Windows NT 4.0. Euclid 3 był używany m.in. przy projektowaniu samochodu osobowego Renault Laguna. Dystrybucją Euclida w Polsce zajmowała się firma PPW Koltech. (pl)
