- Η Πνευμονική νόσος τελικού σταδίου ή η Τελικού σταδίου πνευμονική νόσος (Αγγλικά: End stage lung disease [ESLD] ή End stage pulmonary disease [ESPD]), είναι το τελικό αποτέλεσμα των χρόνιων προοδευτικών πνευμονικών παθήσεων όπως η ΧΑΠ, η ιδιοπαθής πνευμονική ίνωση ή οι συστηματικές προοδευτικές ασθένειες, οι οποίες επηρεάζουν τους πνεύμονες όπως η κυστική ίνωση ή η κοκκιωμάτωση με πολυαγγείωση. Ορίζεται, πως όταν οι πνεύμονες δεν μπορούν πλέον να απομακρύνουν ή να απομακρύνουν αρκετό διοξείδιο του άνθρακα ή να παρέχουν αρκετό οξυγόνο για να καλύψουν τις βασικές ανάγκες του σώματος. Στις θεραπευτικές πρακτικές συμπεριλαμβάνεται και η μεταμόσχευση πνεύμονα. (el)

It is defined as when the lungs can no longer or barely remove enough carbon dioxide or supply enough oxygen to meet the body's basic needs. Treatment incorporates a lung transplant. (en)
