- Notruf California (Originaltitel Emergency!, später Emergency One) ist eine US-amerikanische Fernsehserie, die von 1972 bis 1977 vom Fernsehsender NBC erstausgestrahlt wurde. In sechs Staffeln wurden 123 Episoden produziert. Hinzu kamen sechs Fernsehfilme mit einer Laufzeit von je zwei Stunden, die von 1978 bis 1979 erstausgestrahlt wurden. Die Rechte an der Serie liegen heute bei den Erben ihres Produzenten Jack Webb. Die deutschsprachige Erstausstrahlung erfolgte ab Februar 1993 bei RTL. Die Serie handelt vom täglichen Dienst von Paramedics (speziell ausgebildeten Sanitätern, in etwa vergleichbar mit deutschen Rettungsassistenten oder Notfallsanitätern, in ihren Kompetenzen aber teilweise weit darüber hinausgehend) und Feuerwehrleuten auf einer Feuerwache des Los Angeles County Fire Departments (LACoFD). In jeder Folge werden mehrere Notfälle wie Brände, Verkehrs- und Arbeitsunfälle usw. inszeniert und auch das Sozialleben der Beteiligten dargestellt, insbesondere der Paramedics Johnny Gage und Roy DeSoto. Die Darstellung kann verglichen mit anderen Produktionen als realistisch gelten. Der moderne Rettungsdienst mit seiner umfassenden medizinischen Hilfe am Unfallort war zum Zeitpunkt der Entstehung der Serie eine relativ neue Entwicklung. Mit der Serie wurde auch das Interesse verfolgt, für dieses neue System Werbung zu machen und seine Einführung in weiteren Kommunen zu fördern. (de)
- Emergency! is an American action-adventure medical drama television series jointly produced by Mark VII Limited and Universal Television. Debuting on NBC as a midseason replacement on January 15, 1972, replacing the two short-lived situation comedy series The Partners and The Good Life, it ran for a total of 122 episodes until May 28, 1977, with six additional two-hour television films during the next two years, 1978 and 1979. The series stars Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe as two rescuers, who work as paramedics and firefighters in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The duo formed Squad 51, a medical and rescue unit of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, working together with the fictional Rampart General Hospital medical staff (portrayed by Robert Fuller, Julie London and Bobby Troup), and with the firefighter engine company at Station 51. Emergency! was created and produced by Jack Webb and Robert A. Cinader, who had also created the police dramas Adam-12 and Dragnet. Harold Jack Bloom is also credited as a creator; Webb does not receive screen credit as a creator. In the show's original TV-movie pilot, Webb was credited only as its director. However, the series aimed to be much more realistic than its predecessors as it portrayed emergency medical services (EMS). Pioneering EMS leader James O. Page served as a technical advisor, and the two main actors underwent some paramedic training. The series aired at a time when ambulance coverage in the United States was rapidly expanding and changing, and the role of a paramedic was emerging as a profession, and is credited with popularizing the concepts of EMS and paramedics in American society, and even inspiring other states and municipalities to expand the service. Nearly 30 years after Emergency! debuted, the Smithsonian Institution accepted Emergency! memorabilia into its National Museum of American History's public-service section, including the firefighters' helmets, turnouts, Biophone, and defibrillator. Debutó como un remplazo de media temporada el 15 de enero de 1972, en la NBC, remplazando a la efímera serie The Good Life. Fue creada y producida por Jack Webb y Robert Cinader, ambos también creadores del drama policial Adam-12 (Área 12 en América Latina). Los shows eran similares en cuanto a que en ellos aparecían dedicados servidores públicos manejando dos o tres incidentes variados y no relacionados, durante un turno típico. El show regresó como una serie de 6 especiales, como la Película de la Semana, entre finales de 1977 y la primavera de 1979. Tres de las películas de televisión tienen a los personajes de los paramédicos viajando a San Francisco (dos veces) y a Seattle para convenciones de los EMS (Emergency Medical Services o Servicios de Emergencia Médica). Si bien en ambas ciudades acaban ayudando a los departamentos locales (San Francisco Rescate-2 y Seattle's Medic-1) en varios rescates. Los otros fueron "Steel Inferno" (un incendio en un rascacielos), "Survival on Charter #220" (una colisión entre dos aviones sobre un barrio residencial que en su momento fue considerada la película de televisión más cara jamás rodada [cita necesaria]) y una final en la que los bomberos / técnicos sanitarios son ascendidos a capitán.
