- Die Elite League ist die höchste Klasse im britischen Speedwaysport. Über sie werden die britischen Mannschaftsmeister ermittelt. Die Liga besteht aus neun Mannschaften, die, wie bei der Speedway-Bundesliga, im direkten Vergleich gegeneinander antreten. Dabei fährt jede Mannschaft gegen jede andere jeweils einmal auswärts und zu Hause. Für einen Heimsieg bekommt eine Mannschaft zwei Punkte, für einen Auswärtssieg drei Punkte und für ein Unentschieden noch einen Punkt. Die Elite-League wurde 1997 eingeführt. (de)
- The Elite League was the top division of speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. In 2016, the Elite League featured 8 teams, unlike 10 in 2014, during a season which ran between March and October. Each team had a designated race day on which they normally staged their home fixtures, and they regularly had home and away fixtures scheduled in the same week. The Elite League operated for 20 years until British speedway was restructured with the formation of the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship. (en)
- Elite League na żużlu – w latach 1997-2016 najwyższa klasa rozgrywkowa drużynowych mistrzostw Wielkiej Brytanii na żużlu. Była kontynuacją , a od sezonu 2017 jej kontynuatorką jest Premiership. Najbardziej utytułowanym klubem w historii rozgrywek jest Poole Pirates. Drużyna ta ma na swoim koncie siedem mistrzostw Elite League (z dziesięciu zdobytych w całej historii DM Wielkiej Brytanii). Drużyny rywalizowały ze sobą w systemie kołowym, dwa razy jako gospodarz oraz dwukrotnie na wyjeździe. Za zwycięstwo przyznawano 2 punkty (Za zwycięstwo na wyjeździe 3 punkty - od 2008 r.), za remis jeden, a za porażkę zero. Cztery najlepsze drużyny awansowały do fazy play-off, gdzie wyłaniano medalistów ligi. Zwycięzcy Od sezonu 2008 funkcjonował system spadków i awansów. Składy drużyn nie mogły przekroczyć limitu KSM określanego przed startem sezonu. (pl)
