- Die Erwerbsquote bezeichnet als volkswirtschaftliche Kennzahl den Anteil der Erwerbspersonen (Erwerbstätige plus Erwerbslose) an der Einwohnerzahl im gleichen Altersbereich, oftmals aber nicht immer bezogen auf die 15- bis 64-Jährigen. Sie unterscheidet sich von der Erwerbstätigenquote (Beschäftigungsquote), die nur Personen erfasst, die Arbeit haben. Je nach Referenzbevölkerung wird unterschieden zwischen:
* Bruttoerwerbsquote: Anteil der Erwerbspersonen an der Gesamtheit der Wohnbevölkerung.
* Standardisierte Erwerbsquote: Anteil der Erwerbspersonen an der Wohnbevölkerung ab einem bestimmten Mindestalter (in der Regel 15 Jahre).
* Nettoerwerbsquote: Anteil der Erwerbspersonen an der Wohnbevölkerung in einem erwerbsfähigen Alter (in der Regel 15 Jahre bis gesetzliches Rentenalter). (de)

- Il Tasso di attività misura l'offerta di lavoro (nel breve periodo). Esso è dato dal rapporto tra popolazione attiva e popolazione in età lavorativa. I tassi specifici per età permettono da un lato di seguire determinate fasce della popolazione ma anche di comprendere l'evoluzione del tasso complessivo in funzione all'evolversi della struttura demografica della popolazione (aspetto molto importante per via delle classi di età del baby boom). NB: dire "forze di lavoro" o "forze di lavoro con 15 o più anni"è la stessa cosa in quanto le fonti statistiche ignorano dalla fine degli anni novantachi lavora pur avendo meno di 15 anni. Precedentemente la soglia era di 14 anni,legata anche quella alle norme sull'istruzione obbligatoria. (it)
- Współczynnik aktywności zawodowej – współczynnik określający stosunek osób aktywnych zawodowo (osoby zatrudnione + osoby bezrobotne) do ludności w wieku produkcyjnym (kobiety 18-60 lat, a mężczyźni 18-65 lat). Im wyższa wartość tego wskaźnika, tym większa część ludzi w wieku produkcyjnym pracuje zawodowo. Jego wartość jest zawsze mniejsza od 100, ponieważ część osób, które mogłyby pracować nie może tego zrobić, przykładami są:
* niepełnosprawni
* młodzież niepracująca ze względu na studia
