- Equèmen (en llatí Echemenes, en grec antic Ἐχεμένης) fou un historiador grec. Ateneu de Naucratis diu que va ser l'autor de Κρητικά, una obra que feia referència a la història mítica de Creta. Gerardus Joannes Vossius proposa que un historiador amb el nom d'Euxemenes citat per Fulgenci i del que diu que havia escrit una obra titulada Μυθολογούμενα, podria ser el mateix personatge, tot i que no hi ha prou base per assegurar-ho. - Echemenes was an Ancient Greek writer. He is mentioned by Athenaeus (xiii. p. 601) as the author of Κρητικἀ, from which a statement relating to the mythical history of Crete is there quoted. Vossius (de Hist. Graec. p. 436, ed. Westerm.) proposes to read in Fulgentius (Mythol. i. 14), Echemenes for Euxemenes, who is there spoken of as the author of Μνθολογονμενα, of which the first book is quoted. But this conjecture, according to Leonhard Schmitz, is without support. (en)

XVII-wieczny historyk Gerardus Vossius proponował w dziele De historicis Graecis, by identyfikować z Echemenesem wymienionego przez [Mythol. I, 15: "Habes ergo nouem Musarum uel Apollinis ipsius redditam rationem, sicut in libris suis Anaximander Lamsacenus et Zenopanes Eracleopolites exponunt; quod et alii firmant ut Pisander fisicus et Euximenes in libro teologumenon."] - nie znalazło to jednak szerszego uznania.
