ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, also known as EBID, is the financial arm of the Economic Community of West African States. It was established on May 28, 1975 to fund development projects and programmes to support socio-economic development within member states. The EBID is responsible for financing development projects and programs in the areas of infrastructure, transport, energy, telecommunications, agriculture and rural development, social sector, industry, financial services, financial engineering, and hotels/tourism.
