- Přehrada Dry Falls je 37 metrů vysoká a téměř 3 kilometry dlouhá přehrada v americkém státě Washington, přesněji nedaleko města v . Byla postavena v roce 1949 jako část projektu Columbia Basin Project Ministerstva rekultivace Spojených států amerických. Voda z řeky Columbie, kterou přehrazuje přehrada Grand Coulee, putuje krátkým kanálem do starodávného, dříve suchého říčního koryta , na němž se nachází přehrada Dry Falls. Voda z řeky Columbie tedy vyplňuje Grand Coulee vodou, takže v korytě vzniklo . Z přehrady Dry Falls putuje voda do zavlažovacího projektu, jehož hlavní kanál ji zavádí do jezera Billyho Clappera. - Der Dry Falls Dam (auch South Coulee Dam oder South Dam) ist ein erdgefüllter, aus Felsgestein gebauter Staudamm im Grant County im US-Bundesstaat Washington. Er wurde in der Nähe von Coulee City als Teil des Columbia Basin Project des United States Bureau of Reclamation erbaut. Das durch den Grand Coulee Dam aufgestaute Wasser des Columbia River wird mit Hilfe des Feeder Canal in die Grand Coulee gepumpt, einen ehemals trockenen Canyon. Das Nordende der Grand Coulee ist durch den North Dam versiegelt; der Dry Falls Dam erstreckt sich in der Mitte der Coulee (dt. hier „Flussterrasse“). Dadurch ist es möglich, mit dem vom Columbia River gepumpten Wasser die obere Grand Coulee zu füllen und ein großes Ausgleichsbecken, den Banks Lake, zu füllen. Das Wasser aus dem Stausee wird in den Main Canal des Bewässerungsprojekts geleitet, welcher vom Dry Falls Dam aus bis zu einem weiteren Stausee verläuft, dem Billy Clapp Lake, der durch den Pinto Dam gebildet wird. Water from the Columbia River, impounded by Grand Coulee Dam, is pumped into Grand Coulee, a formerly dry canyon, through the short Feeder Canal. Grand Coulee's north end is sealed by North Dam and Dry Falls Dam stretches across the midsection of the Coulee. This allows the water pumped from the Columbia River to fill the upper Grand Coulee, creating a large equalizing reservoir known as Banks Lake. Water from the reservoir is fed into the irrigation project's Main Canal, which runs south from Dry Falls Dam to another reservoir called Billy Clapp Lake, formed by Pinto Dam. (en)
