- Die Click Mill von Dounby (auch Birsay, Dounby Mill, Hillside, Milbrig oder Norse Mill genannt) nordöstlich von auf der Orkney-Insel Mainland ist ein typisches Beispiel für eine nordische oder Horizontalrad-Wassermühle, einer Art von Wassermühlen, die auch auf Lewis and Harris und den Shetlands gefunden werden. Die Click Mill von Dounby ist das letzte, restaurierte Beispiel dieser Mühlenart auf Orkney. Die Click Mill wurde erst Mitte der 1820er Jahre gebaut und war bis Mitte der 1880er Jahre in Betrieb. - Dounby Click Mill is a mill located on the Mainland of Orkney, in Scotland. It is the last of the horizontal or "Norse" watermills of Orkney still in working order. The mill is constructed with drystone walls and roofed with flagstones and turf. The design avoids the use of complicated gearing to transfer the drive to the millstones by mounting the stones directly above the wheel and on the same shaft. It has been restored by, and is owned by, Historic Environment Scotland. (en)
