- تعرف شجرة الديمقراطية (بالماليزية: Pokok Demokrasi) بأنها شجرة مطيرة يشار إليها كموقع تجمع 27 من صناع القانون بولاية فيرق من ائتلاف التحالف الشعبي الماليزي الذي يتكون من حزب العمل الديمقراطي والحزب الإسلامي الماليزي حيث تم عقد «جمعية طارئة» يوم 3 مارس 2009. وتقع الشجرة على بعد حوالي 100 متر من مبنى فيرق دار الرضوان الذي يضم المجلس التشريعي للولاية. وعقد أعضاء المجلس التشريعي بالولاية جلستهم تحت الشجرة بعد أن منعتهم الشرطة من دخول المبنى. ودعت الجمعية إلى قرب حدوث أزمة فيرق الدستورية عام 2009. ادعى كل من دكتور زامبري من المنظمة الوطنية الماليزية المتحدة وأمين المجلس الموقوف حديثًا عبد الله أنتونج صبري أن هذة الجلسة كانت باطلة لأنه لم تعقد بموافقة من السلطان أزلان شاه. - The Democracy Tree (Bahasa Malaysia: Pokok Demokrasi) is a rain tree in Malaysia, named for its role in the 2009 Perak constitutional crisis. It is noted as the venue where 27 Perak state lawmakers from Pakatan Rakyat comprising Democratic Action Party, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia and Parti Keadilan Rakyat, held an 'emergency assembly' on 3 March 2009. The tree was located about 100m from the Perak Darul Ridzuan building which houses the state assembly. The assembly was held under the tree by the state assemblymen after being blocked by the police from entering the premises. Dr. Zambry, from UMNO, and recently suspended assembly secretary Abdullah Antong Sabri had claimed that the sitting was invalid because it did not have the consent of Sultan Azlan Shah. (en)
