Dave Greenslade (born 18 January 1943 in Woking, Surrey, England) is a British keyboards player. He has played in his own eponymous band, Greenslade, and others including Colosseum, If and Chris Farlowe's Thunderbirds.

He has played in his own eponymous band, Greenslade, and others including Colosseum, If and Chris Farlowe's Thunderbirds. As a solo artist, Greenslade moved away from the R&B influences of Farlowe, and brought together a vast array of synthesizers to create an intensely surrealistic sound. Among his works are, Cactus Choir, The Pentateuch of the Cosmogony and Music from the Discworld. Television work includes music for the BBC series Gangsters and Bird of Prey (1982-1984). He is currently a staunch and valued member of the Green Dragon early evening drinking club and a valued taster of their famed Chaucer Ale. (en)

Woodroffe hatte The Pentateuch als Buch bereits fertiggestellt und bat Dave Greenslade, für dessen Band Greenslade er einige Jahre zuvor ein Plattencover gestaltet hatte, Musik dazu zu schreiben. Das Ergebnis dieser Zusammenarbeit, der wohl ambitionierteste Versuch eines Gesamtkunstwerks im Progressive Rock, erschien als aufwändiges Gatefold-Album mit einem 50-seitigen Buchteil, das eine Science-Fiction-Schöpfungsgeschichte in einer eigens entwickelten piktographischen Schrift und zahlreiche Illustrationen Woodroffes enthielt, während die Platte Musik der entsprechenden außerirdischen Zivilisation bot. Das Album ist mit einer Auflage von 50. 000 erschienen und ist heute ein Sammlerstück. In den 90er Jahren wurde es im CD-Format wiederveröffentlicht, mit vollständigem, aber verkleinertem Buchteil. Greenslade war zudem Mitglied bei Chris Farlowes Thunderbirds und bei Jon Hisemans Colosseum und ist Gründer und Namensgeber der Gruppe Greenslade. (de)
