- Ο Κρητικός Ύμνος ήταν ο εθνικός ύμνος της Κρητικής Πολιτείας. Υιοθετήθηκε το 1898 και ο ρυθμός είναι όπως εκείνου του Ελληνικού Εθνικού ύμνου και προσαρμόστηκε από τον . Ο στιχουργός είναι ο Ιωάννης Πολέμης, ενώ ο ύμνος εορτάζει τους κρητικούς αγώνες για την απελευθέρωση από την Οθωμανική Αυτοκρατορία. Ο ύμνος δεν ήταν πολύ δημοφιλής, καθώς οι Κρητικοί έβλεπαν την Κρητική Πολιτεία ως προσωρινό μέτρο. Ο ελληνικός εθνικός ύμνος ήταν ο ανεπίσημος ύμνος της περιοχής, ενώ μετά την μονομερή ένωση της Κρήτης με την Ελλάδα το 1908 (αναγνωρίστηκε επίσημα το 1913, μετά τους Βαλκανικούς Πολέμους), ο Ελληνικός επίσημος ύμνος απέκτησε επίσημη χρήση. - The Cretan Anthem (Greek: Κρητικός Ύμνος, Kritikos Ymnos) was the national anthem of the Cretan State. It was adopted in 1898 and it was sung to the tune of the Greek national anthem, originally composed by Nikolaos Mantzaros and adopted by , with new words by the poet Ioannis Polemis, celebrating Crete's bloody struggles for freedom from the Ottoman Empire. The anthem never gained much popularity, since the Cretans viewed the Cretan State as a temporary measure; the Greek national anthem was the de facto unofficial anthem, and after Crete unilaterally declared its union with the Kingdom of Greece in 1908 (not formally recognized until 1913, after the Balkan Wars), the Greek national anthem was used officially as well.
