- The Saint John Family (mostly known as the Community of Saint John) is a religious order composed of three French Catholic congregations: the Brothers of Saint John, the Apostolic Sisters of Saint John, and the Contemplative sisters of Saint John. There are also oblates (laypeople who have committed to the group). The communities, while remaining separate and independent institutions, share a common history and spirituality. Father Marie-Dominique Philippe founded the Brothers of Saint John in 1975, the Contemplative sisters of Saint John in 1982, and the Apostolic Sisters of Saint John in 1984. The Saint John Family is a Catholic religious order which draws heavily from the writings of John the Evangelist. Members live in communities structured around prayer and apostolic life. Studies, particularly in philosophy and theology, also have an important place in the members' lives. Since 2013, several women have spoken out about prolonged and devastating sexual, psychological and spiritual abuse that they have suffered within the Community of St. John, including from the founder of the Community. De même pour les sœurs apostoliques depuis 1993. Quant aux sœurs contemplatives, elles dépendent de l'évêque de Lyon. Le fondateur de la communauté Saint-Jean, Marie-Dominique Philippe, fait l'objet d'accusations de dérive sectaire et d'abus sexuels. Par ailleurs, plusieurs membres de la communauté Saint-Jean sont reconnus coupables d'agressions sexuelles dont des viols sur adultes, mineurs ou personnes fragiles. (fr)

Communauté Saint-Jean) – katolicka wspólnota zakonna, założona przez francuskiego dominikanina i filozofa Marie Dominique Philippe'a. Za datę założenia wspólnoty przyjmuje się 8 grudnia 1975, pierwszym miejscem przebywania wspólnoty było opactwo cystersów na wysepce koło Cannes. Od 1986 Wspólnota św. Jana została instytutem zakonnym na prawie diecezjalnym, nadanym przez biskupa Autun (Francja), tj. z upoważnienia Kościoła katolickiego. Wspólnota składa się z trzech grup: Bracia, Siostry kontemplacyjne i Siostry Apostolskie. Organizuje liczne sesje dla młodzieży, dla rodzin i wielu innych rekolekcji tematycznych. W 2005 Wspólnota św. Jana składała się z 930 braci, sióstr kontemplacyjnych i apostolskich, i ponad 3000 oblatów w 21 krajach i 91 wikariatach, 48 z nich znajduje się we Francji. Po siedmiu lat nowicjatu i okresu kształcenia, bracia mieszkają w tych małych społecznościach o nazwie „wikariat”. Członkowie wspólnoty są po ślubach zakonnych. W 2013 Wspólnota św. Jana przekazała, głosem swego przełożonego brata Joachima, informację o naruszeniu zasad czystości seksualnej przez swojego założyciela. (pl)
