- كلوبينثيكسول والذي يُعرف أيضاً باسم كلوبينتيكسول هو دواء نموذجي مضاد للذهان من فئة الثيوكانثينات أنتجته شركة لوندبك الدولية للصناعات الدوائية في عام 1961. يتكون الكلوبينثيكسول من خليط من المتصاوغات الهندسية والزولكلوبينثيكسول. أنتجت شركة لوندبك المتصاوغ الهندسي النقي في عام 1962، واستخدم كلا الدواءين على نطاق واسع حيث أن لهما نفس القدر من الفعالية كمضادات الذهان، ولهما أيضاً آثار جانبية متشابهة، إلّا أن عقار الكلوبينثيكسول نشط بمقدار النصف إذا ما قارننا ملليغرام واحد بملليغرام واحد من كلا الدوائين، كما أنه يحدث المزيد من تسكين الآلام. لم يتم اعتماد دواء الكلوبينثيكسول حتّى الآن للاستخدام في الولايات المتحدة. - Clopenthixol ist ein Gemisch von zwei isomeren polycyclischen organischen chemischen Verbindungen aus der Gruppe der Thioxanthene. Vor seiner Marktrücknahme im Jahre 2000 wurde es als Arzneistoff, speziell als Neuroleptikum in der Behandlung von Psychosen eingesetzt. Clopenthixol ist ein Dopamin- und Serotonin-Hemmstoff. Als Bestandteil eines Arzneimittels wurde Clopenthixol erstmals 1961 durch Lundbeck unter dem Namen Sordinol in den Handel gebracht. (de)
- Clopenthixol (Sordinol), also known as clopentixol, is a typical antipsychotic drug of the thioxanthene class. It was introduced by Lundbeck in 1961. Clopenthixol is a mixture of cis and trans isomers. Zuclopenthixol, the pure cis isomer, was later introduced by Lundbeck in 1962, and has been much more widely used. Both drugs are equally effective as antipsychotics and have similar adverse effect profiles, but clopenthixol is half as active on a milligram-to-milligram basis and appears to produce more sedation in comparison. Den kemiska beteckningen är C22H25ClN2OS. Klopentixol har ersatts av det kemiskt närbesläktade zuklopentixol (Cisordinol), som har samma kemiska formel med undantag av att två atomer bytt plats (s.k. cisform i stället för transform). (sv)

Znalazł zastosowanie jako neuroleptyk w ostrej i przewlekłej schizofrenii oraz innych chorobach psychotycznych z bogatą symptomatyką wytwórczą.
