- Die Christo-Rei-Statue in Lubango befindet sich auf einer Erhebung oberhalb des geschlossenen Stadtgebietes von Lubango im Süden Angolas, in Richtung Humpata. Sie wurde ursprünglich als Verehrung des Christus König gedacht und zählt heute zu den bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten des Landes. Die Statue breitet ihre Arme zur Stadt hin aus und ist von praktisch jedem Punkt Lubangos aus sichtbar. Sie steht seit 2014 als Nationaldenkmal (Monumento Nacional) unter Denkmalschutz. 2015 wurde unterhalb des Cristo Rei noch der Schriftzug „Lubango“ errichtet, in Anlehnung an das Hollywood Sign. (de)
- The Christ the King statue (Portuguese: Cristo Rei) is a Catholic monument and shrine overlooking the city of Lubango in the South of Angola. It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), as one of only four in the world. This 30-metre-high (98 ft) white marble statue was built in 1957. The monument was designed in the 1950s by Portuguese engineer of Madeira Frazão Sardinha, and is listed as an Angolan World Heritage Site as of April 18, 2014. (en)
