- CL Draconis is a single star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Draco. It can be viewed with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 4.96. The distance to this star, as determined from its annual parallax shift of 29.9 mas, is 109 light years. It is moving closer to the Earth with a heliocentric radial velocity of −11 km/s. The star has a relatively high proper motion, traversing the celestial sphere at the rate of 0.185″/yr. Based upon a stellar classification of F0 IV, this is an aging F-type subgiant star that has consumed the hydrogen at its core. It is spinning rapidly with a projected rotational velocity of 165 km/s, giving it an oblate shape with an equatorial bulge that is estimated to be 8% larger than the polar radius. CL Dra is a Delta Scuti variable, changing brightness with an amplitude of 0.010 magnitude over a period of 1.83 hours. CL Dra has 1.68 times the mass of the Sun and is radiating 10.2 times the Sun's luminosity from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 7,439 K. (en)

Estuvo encuadrada en Quadrans Muralis, constelación hoy desaparecida que representaba un cuadrante, siendo la estrella más brillante de la misma.Se encuentra a 110 años luz de distancia del sistema solar. CL Draconis es una subgigante blanca de tipo espectral F0IV.De parecidas características a las de Wasat (δ Geminorum) o μ Ceti, tiene una temperatura efectiva de aproximadamente 7235 K, brillando con una luminosidad 11 veces mayor que la luminosidad solar.Su contenido metálico —entendiendo por metales aquellos elementos más pesados que el helio— es comparable al del Sol, excepto para titanio, cromo y bario, más abundantes que en nuestra estrella.Gira sobre sí misma a gran velocidad —igual o superior a 141 km/s—, correspondiendo un período de rotación máximo de 18,48 horas. CL Draconis es una variable Delta Scuti, siendo debidos los cambios de luminosidad a pulsaciones radiales y no-radiales de su superficie.Como es característico de estas variables, la fluctuación de brillo de CL Draconis es pequeña, de solo 0,02 magnitudes. Existen dos períodos conocidos de 1,629 y 1,183 horas.Su variabilidad fue descubierta por M. Breger en 1969. (es)
