- Der Bowen Cirque ist ein Bergkessel im ostantarktischen Coatsland. In den Read Mountains der Shackleton Range liegt er nordnordöstlich des Mount Wegener. Luftaufnahmen der Formation entstanden durch die United States Navy im Jahr 1967. Der British Antarctic Survey nahm zwischen 1968 und 1971 Vermessungen vor. Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee benannte den Bergkessel nach dem kanadischen Geologen Norman L. Bowen (1887–1956), der sich unter anderem mit den Gesetzmäßigkeiten der Abscheidung von Mineralen beim Abkühlen von magmatischen Schmelzen beschäftigte. (de)
- Bowen Cirque (80°42′S 23°27′W / 80.700°S 23.450°W) is a cirque north-northeast of Mount Wegener in the Read Mountains, Shackleton Range. It was photographed from the air by the U.S. Navy, 1967, and surveyed by the British Antarctic Survey, 1968–71. In association with the names of geologists grouped in this area, it was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1971 after Norman Levi Bowen, American experimental petrologist who specialized in the phase equilibria of silicate melt systems. - Il Bowen Cirque è un circo glaciale situato a nord-nordest del Monte Wegener, nei Monti Read, che fanno parte della Catena di Shackleton, nella Terra di Coats in Antartide. Nel 1967 fu effettuata una ricognizione aerofotografica da parte degli aerei della U.S. Navy. Un'ispezione al suolo fu condotta dalla British Antarctic Survey (BAS) nel periodo 1968-71. Ricevette l'attuale denominazione nel 1971 dal Comitato britannico per i toponimi antartici (UK-APC), in onore del petrologo canadese Norman Levi Bowen, che si era specializzato nello studio degli equilibri di fase nei sistemi di fusi silicatici.
