- Binibèquer Vell (incorrectament anomenat Binibeca Vell) és un complex turístic ubicat a la costa meridional de l'illa de Menorca (Balears), que pertany al terme municipal de Sant Lluís. Es troba a 5 km del centre del municipi, i a 8 km de Maó, capital insular. Es situa entre el Cap d'en Font a l'oest, i la platja de Binibeca a l'est. Es tracta d'un nucli concebut pels arquitectes Antoni Sintes Mercadal i Francesc Joan Barba Corsini i pretén emular l'estil d'edificació propi de pobles costaners del mediterrani, la qual cosa li ha valgut certa popularitat com a punt de visita turística, fins a esdevenir una dels indrets més fotografiats de l'illa. La seva arquitectura configura un tipus de complex turístic capdavanter per la seva explotació d'un pintoresquisme clarament contraposat als ideals de l'arquitectura moderna i fins i tot diferenciat del d'altres complexos turístics coetanis com Empuriabrava a la Costa Brava o La Mota Granda a Occitània. Al voltant del nucli s'ha desenvolupat una urbanització de cases unifamiliars i comerços, la qual cosa l'ha convertit en una destinació molt popular entre el turisme d'estiu. (ca)
- Binibeca Vell (Binibeca Viejo in Spanish; Binibèquer Vell in Catalan) is a town located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean island of Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain), which belongs to the municipality of San Luis. It is 5 km from the capital of the municipality, and 8 km from Mahón, the island's capital. It is located between Cap d'en Font to the west and Binibeca beach to the east. It is a town built around the 1960s, designed by the Barcelonese architect F.J. Barba Corsini, with a project emulating a prototypical style of building of coastal villages in the Mediterranean. This fact has earned it some popularity as a tourist visit, not without controversy by those who consider it an inauthentic construction, unfaithful to the style it aims to imitate. A dispersed urbanization of single-family houses and shops has developed around the town, which has become a central destination for summer tourism. Though coastal, the place has little in the way of commercial development, but that is rapidly changing. The village of Binibeca is characterized by narrow streets and whitewashed villas and apartments. The peculiarity of staying at Binibeca is its small commercial center which offers tourists with a great selection of restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. (en)
