- Jenseits der Mauer des Schlafes (englischer Originaltitel Beyond the Wall of Sleep) ist eine Kurzgeschichte des amerikanischen Schriftstellers H. P. Lovecraft aus dem Jahr 1919. Es handelt sich um eine der ersten veröffentlichten Kurzgeschichten des später für seine Horrorgeschichten bekannten Lovecraft, zugleich wird sie als seine früheste Science-Fiction-Geschichte betrachtet. Sie handelt von einem augenscheinlich verrückten Mann aus den Catskill Mountains, der nach einem Mord in eine Nervenheilanstalt eingeliefert wird. Der Erzähler, ein Assistenzarzt der Anstalt, versucht, dem Hintergrund der Verrücktheit auf den Grund zu kommen. Während der Mann schläft, tritt der Arzt deshalb mit einem kosmischen Wesen in Kontakt, das im Körper des Patienten gefangen ist und auf Rache an dem Dämonenstern Algol sinnt. (de)
