The district encompasses approximately 42.3 square miles (110 km2). According to 2000 federal census data, it served a resident population of 108,000. By 2010, the district's population increased to 116,968 people. The educational attainment levels for the Bethlehem Area School District population (25 years old and over) were 87.9% high school graduates and 30.5% college graduates.
