- Beautiful Thing es una obra de teatro y pelicula, escrita por Jonathan Harvey y dirigida por Hettie Macdonald, que presenta la vida de un trío de adolescentes de aproximadamente 16 años que viven en el barrio de Thamesmead en la parte sureste de Londres. Uno de los componentes del mismo es Jamie (Glen Berry), quien representa el papel de joven enamorado, tierno, soñador y con inclinaciones homosexuales. Jamie vive con su madre, Sandra, la cual apoya perfectamente a su hijo cuando éste le dice que es homosexual. A un lado de su casa vive Ste quien, al contrario que Jamie, es reservado y deportista y tiene que cargar con su padre y hermano, los cuales lo golpean constantemente y por cualquier motivo. Ste no sabe que su mejor amigo se convertirá en su pareja por azares del destino.
