- وقعت معركة أم زوير في 18 يونيو 2008 عندما لحق الجيش التشادي برتل للمتمردين كان يتقدم نحو العاصمة انجمينا. وأفيد بأن القوات السودانية هاجمت مواقع تشادية على الحدود في الأيام السابقة وشوهد المتمردون يمرون عبر عدة قرى شرقية. اشتبك الجيش التشادي مع المتمردين بالقرب من بلدة أم زوير وقتل أكثر من 150 وأسر 20. كما تم العثور على عشرات المركبات العسكرية وقتل ثلاثة جنود حكوميين. - The Battle of Am Zoer occurred on June 18, 2008 when the Chadian army caught up with a rebel column that had been advancing towards the capital, N'Djamena. Sudanese forces were reported to have attacked Chadian positions on the border in previous days and the rebels had been seen passing through several eastern villages. The Chadian army engaged the rebels near the town of Am Zoer and routed them killing over 150 and capturing 20. Dozens of military vehicles were also recovered and three government soldiers died. A batalha ocorreu perto da cidade de Am Zoer, a 70 km de Abéché. As forças rebeldes atacaram as tropas chadianas perto da fronteira, dias antes do início da ofensiva.
