- Bataan National Park is a protected area of the Philippines located in the mountainous interior of Bataan province in the Central Luzon Region. The park straddles the northern half of Bataan Peninsula near its border with Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The park was first established in 1945 under Proclamation No. 24 with an initial area of 31,000 hectares and included portions of the fenced area of Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The park was reduced in 1987 to its present size of 23,688 hectares (58,530 acres) and is now wholly located in Bataan province. The park encompasses the Bataan towns and cities of Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Balanga, Bagac and Morong. Mount Natib with its 6 by 7 km (3.7 by 4.3 mi) wide forested acorn-shaped caldera is located in the middle of the park. Activities in the park include nature viewing, bird watching, and trekking to its several peaks and waterfalls. The park is located 101 kilometres (63 mi) from Manila, its mountains can be seen across Manila Bay from the city. (en)

Er steht im Anhang des NIPAS-Gesetzes von 1992 als ein geschützter Naturpark. Er erstreckt sich um den 1.253 Meter hohen Berg Natib auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinden Bagac, Abucay, Morong, Orani, Hermosa und Balanga City. Im Nordwesten schließt sich die 6.261 Hektar große Subic Watershed Forest Reserve an. Der Nationalpark ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Touristen und für die einheimischen Bevölkerung. Die Kernzone des Nationalparks bildet die Region um die beiden Gipfelcalderen des Natib. An seinen Berghängen erstrecken sich bis in ca. 900 Meter Höhe immergrüne Flachlandregenwälder, darüber bildet sich ein Bergwald aus. In den Randzonen liegen landwirtschaftlich genutzte Flächen, die sich mit bebauten Flächen abwechseln. Die Wälder sind jedoch stark bedroht durch Brandrodungen und illegalen Holzeinschlag. Der Ausbruch des nördlich gelegenen Pinatubo im Jahr 1991 schädigte die Wälder im Nationalpark nachhaltig. Die abwechslungsreiche Naturkulisse bietet einen Lebensraum für die auf den Philippinen endemischen Riesenborkenratten (Phloeomys pallidus), den Goldkronen-Flughund (Acerodon jubatus), den Philippinenhirsch (Cervus mariannus) und das Philippinische Pustelschwein (Sus philippensis). Unter der Avifauna sind bemerkenswert die Philippinenente (Anas luzonica), der (Nisaetus philippensis), der Rotsteißkakadu (Cacatua haematuropygia), der (Prioniturus luconensis), der Streifenuhu (Bubo philippensis) und die Manila-Papageiamadine (Erythrura viridifacies).
