- مجتمع الكمبيوتر البريطاني للسيدات معهد متخصص في تكنولوجيا المعلومات يعطي فرص التواصل للسيدات المحترفات اللاتي تعملن في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات حول العالم، فضلا عن توجيه وتشجيع الفتيات والسيدات علي الدخول أو العودة إلي هذا المجال كمهنة. أنشأت الدكتورة/ سو بالك مجتمع الكمبيوتر البريطاني للسيدات، وكانت هي أول من رأسته وتلتها الدكتورة/ كارن بتري مع نائبتها الدكتورة/ هنا دي . الرئيسة الحالية هي جيليان ارنولد من تكتر . ويهدف مجتمع الكمبيوتر البريطاني للسيدات إلى دعم السيدات للعمل في تكنولوجيا المعلومات. وجدت هذه المجموعة عام 2001. ويوجد فيها أكثر من آلف عضوة وقائمة بريدية نشيطة . وتتضمن الأنشطة الأجتماعات والشبكات والتوجيه . وتنظم هؤلاء النساء ندوة لوفليس الجامعية للنساء الجامعيات في الحوسبة، ولقد بدأ المؤتمر في ليدز عام 2008 وحاليا هو منتشر في أنحاء أنجلترا. تعتبر آدا لوفليس أول مبرمجة للكمبيوتر وتم إطلاق اسم الندوة تشريفا لاسمها . وتعقد الندوة للنساء في الجامعة البريطانية، للطالبات اللاتي تدرسن الحوسبة والمواد ذات صلة بها . كانت د./ هنا دي من بدأت هذه الندوة ولها دور مهم في تنظيمها سنويا بشكل مستمر. ويشترك الكثير من تلك النساء في ندوة لندن هوبر السنوي الذي يعرض أعمال مشوقة للنساء في بحوث الحوسبة والذي يساعد على تمكين الأساتذة الباحثين في الفلسفة من مقابلة بعضهم البعض؛ وكذلك مع النساء الثانويات عالمات الكمبيوتر . ويأتي اطلاق اسم الندوة للإشارة إلى جريس هوبر وهو رائد أمريكي في علم الحاسب الآلي . كما تنظم هؤلاء السيدات أحداث أخرى للنساء اللاتي تعملن في الحوسبة في كل من التقنية والأحداث الاجتماعية مثل رحلات لمواقع ذات صلة بالكمبيوتر مثل حديقة بلتشلي. - BCSWomen is a Specialist Group of the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT, that provides networking opportunities for all BCS professional women working in IT around the world, as well as mentoring and encouraging girls and women to enter or return to IT as a career. Founded by Dr Sue Black, as of March 2020 the Chair of BCSWomen is Andrea Palmer. BCSWomen has the aim of supporting women working in and considering a career in Information Technology. The group was founded in 2001. It has more than a thousand members and an active mailing list. Activities include meetings, networking, and mentoring. They organise the Undergraduate Lovelace Colloquium for undergraduate women in computing, a one-day conference which started in Leeds in 2008 and now moves around the UK. named in honour of Ada Lovelace, often regarded as the first computer programmer. The colloquium is for U.K. university women students studying Computing and related subjects. It was started by Dr Hannah Dee, who continues to play a key role in its organisation every year. Many BCSWomen also participate in the annual London Hopper Colloquium, which showcases exciting work of women in computing research and enables new PhD researchers to meet with each other as well as with senior women computer scientists. Grace Hopper was a pioneering American computer scientist.BCSWomen organise other events for women in computing both technical and social, such as day trips to computer-related sites such as Bletchley Park.
