- Der Audi Typ G war ein Personenkraftwagen der unteren Mittelklasse, den die Audi-Werke 1914 herausbrachten. Dies war der kleinste Vorkriegswagen von Audi. Das Fahrzeug hatte einen Vierzylinder-ioe-Zweiblock-Reihenmotor mit 2,1 Litern Hubraum vorne eingebaut. Er entwickelte 22 PS bei 1900/min. Über ein Viergang-Vorgelege-Getriebe und eine Kardanwelle trieb er die Hinterräder an. Der Wagen hatte einen Leiterrahmen und zwei blattgefederte Starrachsen. Er war als Sport-Zweisitzer verfügbar. Bis 1923 wurden 1122 Exemplare gebaut. Damit war dieses Modell bis zur Eingliederung in die Auto Union das meistgebaute. (de)
- The Audi Type G is a passenger car produced by Audi between 1914 and 1923. It is Audi's smallest and least powerful pre-war car. The vehicle had a four-cylinder two-block in-line engine with 2,084 cc of displacement with which developed a maximum of 22 PS (16 kW; 22 hp) at 1900 rpm. Power was transmitted to the rear wheels through a four-speed countershaft gearbox and a steel propeller shaft. A top speed of 65 km/h (40 mph) was claimed. The mechanical foot brake worked directly on the propeller shaft. The car had a ladder frame and two leaf-sprung solid axles. It was available as a sports two-seater. 1,122 Type G Audis were built, making this the biggest selling Audi prior to the creation, in 1932, of the Auto Union. (en)

Il modello aveva montato un motore in linea a quattro cilindri ed a quattro tempi, da 2.084 cm³ di cilindrata. La potenza erogata era di 22 CV a 1.900 giri al minuto, mentre l'alesaggio e la corsa erano, rispettivamente, 75 mm e 118 mm. La distribuzione era IOE. Il cambio era a quattro rapporti, mentre la trazione era posteriore. La carreggiata anteriore e posteriore era di 1.250 mm. Le sospensioni erano a balestra ed assale rigido. La carrozzeria era due posti roadster. La velocità massima raggiunta dal modello era di 65 km/h. La produzione della Typ G cominciò nel 1914, ma durò solo pochi mesi a causa dello scoppio della prima guerra mondiale che ne interruppe la carriera commerciale, carriera che però fu ripresa all'indomani dell'armistizio: il prezzo concorrenziale rispose bene al difficile periodo economico post-bellico, con l'inflazione galoppante che precludeva ogni progetto a lungo termine: la vettura fu prodotta in totale in 1.122 esemplari, dei quali la stragrande maggioranza fu venduta dopo la guerra. Gli esemplari che trovarono un compratore prima della guerra furono invece in numero irrisorio. (it)
