- Antíoc de Ptolemais (en llatí Antiochus, en grec antic Ἀντίοχος) fou bisbe de Ptolemais a Palestina. Havia nascut a Síria. A principis del segle V va anar a Constantinoble on va destacar per la seva oratòria i eloqüència. Després va estar al costat dels enemics de Joan Crisòstom. Va morir no més tard del 408 aC. Es coneixen molts sermons d'Antíoc, i va deixar escrita una obra anomenada "Contra l'avarícia" que s'ha perdut. (ca)

A Syrian by birth, he went to Constantinople at the beginning of the 5th century AD, where his eloquent preaching attracted such attention that he was called by some another Chrysostom. Dopo l'insediamento di Giovanni Crisostomo viaggiò a Costantinopoli, dove soggiornò per qualche tempo, guadagnando soldi con la sua predicazione. Dopo essere rientrato nella sua diocesi, ritornò nuovamente a Costantinopoli, dove prese posto tra gli avversari di Giovanni Crisostomo durante il sinodo della Quercia (403).
