- Amédée Galzin (1 May 1853, Parrinet, Aveyron – 14 February 1925, Parrinet) was a French veterinarian and mycologist. In 1878 he obtained his degree from the veterinary college in Toulouse. From 1879 to 1905, he served as a military veterinarian, becoming a knight of the Legion of Honour in 1899. With Abbé Hubert Bourdot, he was co-author of a series of publications (11 parts, 1909 to 1925) involving Hymenomycetes native to France; all parts being published in the Bulletin de la Société Mycologique de France. With Bourdot, he also wrote Heterobasidiae nondum descriptae (Descriptions of a few jelly fungi). With Bourdot, he was the taxonomic authority of the fungi genus Oxyporus, as well as of numerous mycological species. The standard author abbreviation Galzin is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name. (en)

- Amédée [Jean] Galzin è stato un micologo e veterinario francese. Figlio di Casimir e Marie Daures, nacque a Parrinet, un piccolo villaggio nel circondario del comune di Belmont-sur-Rance nel Dipartimento di Aveyron. Nel 1874 frequentò la scuola di veterinaria a Tolosa dove si diplomò nel 1878. Tra il 1885 e il 1891 partecipò alla campagna di Tunisia. Nel 1906 sposò a Millau, Euphrasie Léonie Marie Rabe. Passò gli ultimi anni della sua vita ad assistere la moglie malata ed alla sua morte fu sepolto nel cimitero di Buffières. Insieme al micologo Hubert Bourdot (1861-1937) fu coautore di una serie di pubblicazioni (1909–1925) sui funghi lignicoli Hymenomycetes presenti in Francia. (it)

W latach 1879–1905 pełnił funkcję weterynarza wojskowego, w 1899 został rycerzem Legii Honorowej. W 1905 r. przeszedł na emeryturę, a w 1906 roku ożenił się. Mieszkał w . W latach 1909–1925 wraz z Hubertem Bourdotem był współautorem szeregu publikacji dotyczących Hymenomycetes Francji. Wszystkie części zostały opublikowane w Biuletynie la Société Mycologique de France. Wraz z Bourdotem napisał także Heterobasidiae nondum descriptae. Opisał nowe gatunki grzybów. W nazwach naukowych utworzonych przez niego taksonów dodawane jest jego nazwisko Galzin. (pl)
