- The Amstrad NC100 Notepad was an A4-size, portable Z80-based computer, released by Amstrad in 1992. It featured 64 KB of RAM, the Protext word processor, various organiser-like facilities (diary, address book and time manager), a simple calculator, and a version of the BBC BASIC interpreter. Its screen was 80 character columns by eight rows, and not backlit, but this let the NC100 run for up to 20 hours on four standard AA cell batteries. There was an RS232 serial port, a parallel port for connecting a printer, and a PC card socket, by means of which the computer's memory could be expanded up to 1 MB. (en)
- Der Amstrad Notepad Computer ist ein ab 1992 von der Firma Amstrad in drei Modellvarianten (NC100, NC150, NC200) produzierter Computer. Als Haupt-Produktmerkmal wurde vom Hersteller die leichte Bedienbarkeit herausgestellt. Um die leichte Bedienbarkeit hervorzuheben, wandte sich der Amstrad-Präsident Alan Sugar im Handbuch in einem Vorwort an die Anwender. Darin schrieb er, er könne sogar als Chef eines Computerherstellers bisher nicht mit Computern umgehen: „Yes – I am embarrassed to say that, as the Chairman of one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of computers, I have never been able to use one!“ Seine Entwickler hätten daher den Auftrag erhalten, ein Gerät zu entwickeln, mit dem selbst er umgehen könne. Le NC100 avait 64 KB de RAM, l'éditeur de texte Protext, plusieurs applications PIM (agenda, contacts et journal), une calculatrice simple et un interpréteur . L'écran du NC100 comportait 80 caractères par colonne sur 8 lignes, sans rétroéclairage, ce qui permettait d'avoir une autonomie de 20 heures avec quatre piles standards AA. Il était équipé d'un port série RS232, un port parallèle pour connecter une imprimante, un port PC Card pour cartes 1 Mio afin d'augmenter la mémoire de l'ordinateur. (fr)
