- The Alfa Romeo Kamal is a crossover SUV (sports utility vehicle) concept car designed by the Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo. The Kamal was presented at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle used the Fiat Premium platform, which it shared with the 159, Spider and Brera, and was initially set for launch in 2007. The brand was also intended to have returned to the United States in 2007. During the development stages, Alfa Romeo used the project name CXover. Kamal means 'lotus' in Sanskrit. The term means 'perfection' or the 'synthesis of opposites' in Arabic. Alfa Romeo eventually launched a new production crossover SUV, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, in late 2016, with sales commencing the following year. Exterior design of the see-through model was developed by Alessandro Dambrosio and Tori Odagiri of Centro Stile Alfa Romeo under the supervision of Wolfgang Egger. Lors du Salon de Francfort 2010, Harald Wester avait présenté un plan produit faisant état d'un commercialisation d'un SUV dans la gamme Alfa Romeo avant 2014. Le Kamal utilisait la plateforme de l'Alfa Romeo 159. L'objectif d'Alfa Romeo avec ce concept était de concurrencer les BMW X3, Mercedes GLK, Volvo XC60 ou encore Audi Q5.Mais la Kamal est venue enrichir en 2011 le Museo Storico d'Alfa Romeo, le musée où se retrouve les concepts cars qui ne sont restés que des concepts. Crossoverem, który dość mocno przypomina koncepcyjny model Kamal, jest Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Jego sprzedaż ruszyła w 2018 r. Pod maskę Alfa Romeo Kamal trafiła jednostka V6 o pojemności skokowej 3,2-litrów i mocy 250 KM i 300 Nm, która pochodziła oryginalnie z Alfy Romeo 147 GTA.
