- El gripau Amietophrynus superciliaris també conegut com a gegant africà, gripau de Congo, o gripau del Camerun és una espècie de gripau de la familiar Bufonidae. Se'l troba a Camerun, a la República Centreafricana, a la República del Congo, a la República Democràtica del Congo, a la Costa d'Ivori, a la Guinea Equatorial, a Gabon, a Ghana, a Nigèria, possiblement també a Libèria, i possiblement també a Sierra Leone. Els hàbitats naturals d'aquest gripau són el subtropical i el tropical, als boscos humits de baixa altitud, els pantans d'aigua dolça permanents i els intermitents, les plantacions, i boscos fortament degradats. És una espècie qualificada amb mínima preocupació, tot i que està amenaçada per la pèrdua d'hàbitat. (ca)
