- The African Rally Championship (ARC) is an international automobile rally championship run under the auspicies of the FIA. The championship was first held in 1981 and won by Shekhar Mehta. The most successful driver in the championship's history is Zambian driver Satwant Singh with eight championships. The reigning champion is Kenyan driver . The championship has been held widely across the African continent, including the island of Madagascar, although few events are held in or north of the Sahara. The championship has frequently incorporated World Rally Championship events, particularly Africa's two most popular rallies, the Safari Rally in Kenya and the Ivory Coast Rally in Côte d'Ivoire. It is most popular in former British colonies. Presently the African rally championship events are held in Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. (en)
- Die Afrikanische Rallye-Meisterschaft (offiziell FIA African Rally Championship) wird ohne Unterbrechung seit 1981, unter Aufsicht der FIA, auf dem Afrikanischen Kontinent und Madagaskar ausgetragen. In ihrem zweiten Jahr wurde die Serie vom Deutschen Walter Röhrl mit einem Opel Ascona 400 gewonnen, der im selben Jahr auch die Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft (Fahrerwertung) auf seinen Namen schrieb. Walter Röhrl ist damit der einzige Deutsche Sieger der Rallye. Rekordsieger ist Satwant Singh, aus Sambia, mit acht Gesamtsiegen. Zugelassen sind für die Rallyserie sind Rallyefahrzeuge der Super-2000-Klasse und der Gruppe N. In der Saison 2012 standen insgesamt elf Wertungsläufe in verschiedenen Ländern des afrikanischen Kontinents auf dem Terminkalender. Die bekanntesten Rallyes der Afrikanischen Rallye-Meisterschaft sind die Rallye Safari, die , die und die Rallye Elfenbeinküste. (de)
