- Adobe Acrobat Distiller és un programa d'ordinador per convertir documents de format de PostScript a PDF (Format de Document Portàtil), el format natiu de la família de productes Adobe Acrobat. Fou venut per primera vegada com a component d'Acrobat en 1993. Acrobat4, en 1999, va afegir preset arxius de configuració a Distiller, i Acrobat 5, en 2001, millorà l'administració de color. Originalment una aplicació separada, Distiller finalment acabà incorporant-se a un controlador d'impressora per a crear arxius de PDF que conservava l'aspecte imprès de documents d'altres aplicacions. It was first shipped as a component of Acrobat in 1993. Acrobat 4, in 1999, added preset configuration files to Distiller, and Acrobat 5, in 2001, added improved color management. Originally a separate application, Distiller eventually became incorporated into a printer driver for creating PDF files that preserved the printed appearance of documents from other applications. A related Adobe product, Acrobat Distiller Server, was released in 2000 and provided the ability to perform high-volume conversion of PostScript to PDF formats through a centralized client-server architecture. In 2013, Distiller Server was discontinued in favor of the PDF Generator component of Adobe LiveCycle. (en)
- Adobe Acrobat Distiller ist ein Computerprogramm zum Konvertieren von Dokumenten aus dem PostScript-Format in das Adobe-PDF-Format, das Standardformat der Adobe-Acrobat-Produktfamilie. Erstmals wurde es 1993 als Komponente von Acrobat ausgeliefert. In der Version Acrobat 4 wurden 1999 voreingestellte Konfigurationsdateien mit ausgeliefert, in der Version Acrobat 5 wurde 2001 ein verbessertes Farbmanagement ergänzt. Ursprünglich als eigenständige Anwendung entwickelt, wurde es später als Teil eines Druckertreibers ausgeliefert, der bei der Erstellung von PDF-Dateien aus Dateiformaten anderer Anwendungen das ursprüngliche Erscheinungsbild der Dokumente bewahrt. Im Jahr 2000 wurde als verwandtes Produkt der Acrobat Distiller Server eingeführt. Er stellte die Möglichkeit bereit, große Mengen von PostScript-Dokumenten über eine zentralisierte Client-Server-Architektur in PDF-Dateien zu konvertieren. 2013 wurde diese Software zugunsten der PDF-Generatorkomponente von abgekündigt. - Adobe Distiller är en mjukvarumässig lösning för att ta PostScript-filer (.ps) i tryck som finala PDF-dokument.Adobe Distiller är också en bra programvara för att förminska vanliga pdf:er eller tryckklara pdf:er till en webbvänlig version. Om en fil är 5M stor kan man genom att konvertera pdf:en i distillern få ner storleken till exempelvis 300 Kb. I den senaste versionen har Adobe Systems valt att låta applikationen ta form av en egen server, detta för att möjliggöra för tjänsten att tjäna exempelvis samtliga arbetsstationer vid en dagstidning. Den 31 maj 2013 togs beslut om att avsluta Serverversionen. (sv)
