- تاوروليدين (Taurolidine) بمثابة مضاد حيوي ومضاد للذيفان الداخلي مع مجموعة واسعة من النشاط ضد البكتيريا إيجابية وسلبية الغرام الفطريات، كذلك مضاد للميكروبات ومضاد لعديد السكاريد الشحمي.له الصيغة العامة ([bis(1,1-dioxoperhydro-1,2,4-thiadiazinyl-4)-methane)، مشتق من الحمض الأميني تاورين (taurine). وقد استخدم تاوروليدين لعلاج المرضى مع التهاب الصفاق وبصفته عامل antiendoxic في المرضى الذين يعانون من متلازمة الاستجابة الالتهابية الجهازية. وهو من مضادات الميكروبات الحية المسببة للإنتان البطني الحاد والتهاب الصفاق.لالتهابات الشديدة الجراحية واستخدامها في جراحة الأورامتاوروليدين تنشط ضد طائفة واسعة من الكائنات الحية الدقيقة التي تشمل البكتيريا إيجابية الجرام، البكتيريا سالبة الجرام، الفطريات، mycobateria وأيضا البكتيريا التي تقاوم المضادات الحيوية المختلفة مثل MRSA، VISA VRSA ORSA VRE. - Taurolidine is an antimicrobial that is used to prevent infections in catheters. Side effects and the induction of bacterial resistance is uncommon. It is also being studied as a treatment for cancer. It is derived from the endogenous amino acid derivative taurine. The putative method of action involves the metabolism of taurolidine to taurinamide and ultimately taurine and water, liberating methylol groups that chemically react with the mureins in the bacterial cell wall and with the amino and hydroxyl groups of endotoxins and exotoxins. This reaction denatures the endotoxins and complex polysaccharide and lipopolysaccharide components of the bacterial cell wall and inactivates susceptible exotoxins. (en)
- La taurolidina è un farmaco con attività antimicrobica e anti-lipopolisaccaridica derivato dalla taurina. Il suo ruolo immunomodulatorio si basa sulla presentazione dell'antigene ai macrofagi e ai polimorfonucleati e sulla loro successiva attivazione dei macrofagi e dei polimorfonucleati. Tale farmaco è stato utilizzato nel trattamento della peritonite e nei pazienti con sindrome da risposta infiammatoria sistemica. La taurolidina ha altresì dimostrato attività antitumorale, con buoni risultati nei primi studi clinici, in particolare nei confronti di neoplasie gastrointestinali e del sistema nervoso centrale. È stata inoltre studiata come farmaco da utilizzare nella prevenzione delle infezioni dovute al catetere venoso centrale, mostrando buoni risultati sia in vivo, sia in vitro, non sufficienti tuttavia a suggerirne un uso di routine.
