Fundada el 1942 per i , l'empresa tenia la intenció de produir-ne 100 unitats anuals, però finalment només n'arribaren a produir una o dues en total. El 1944, l'empresa va presentar el seu prototipus en una mena de Fira de l'Automòbil organitzada per la Dirección General de Transportes a Villaverde (Madrid), però la manca d'ajut de les autoritats franquistes i la mort de Joan Aymerich el 1946 provocaren l'abandonament definitiu d'aquest projecte empresarial el 1947. - The AFA was a Spanish automobile manufactured between 1943 and 1944. Little is known about the marque other than that a few (1 or 2) 5cv 4-cylinder cabriolets were built by Juan Aymerich Casanovas in Barcelona. AFA is for Aymerich Fábrica de Automoviles or Aymerich Automobile Factory. The AFA was powered by a four-stroke 527 cc engine that produced 13 hp at 3,500 rpm. The AFA microcar had a manual transmission with four gears with a top speed of 85 km/h. The company exhibited at the Exposición Automovilista Nacional in Madrid on July 10, 1944. In 1935 Juan had created the failed "National Ruby" car, due to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War he was not able to go to production. But his experience served as the basis for the AFA. The AFA prototype was registered in Barcelona in April 1943, with the registration number B-72.107 and its patent number was 159,882. Juan Aymerich Casanovas hoped to make 100 cars annually, but only produced one or two cars. Aymerich died in 1946, and the car project was then abandoned in 1947. In 2008, a son of John Aymerich contacted the mNACTEC Terrassa, which took the only remaining car and restored it. After three years of restoration work, the AFA is now on exhibition at Transport mNACTEC.

- El AFA fue un microcoche fabricado en Barcelona desde 1943. Era un automóvil de verdad, aunque de reducidas dimensiones. Fruto del diseño de Juan Aymerich Casanovas que, ayudado por Jaime Morera Carreró y por Luis Fernández Roca, iniciaron la empresa en 1942. El único prototipo existente fue presentado el 10 de julio de 1944 en la Exposición Automovilística de Villaverde, organizada por la Dirección General de Transportes, dependiente del Ministerio del Ejército en este entonces. Fue matriculado con el número B-72.107 y, con patente número 159.882, fue registrado en abril de 1943. Parece ser que fue probado satisfactoriamente por los ingenieros del Ministerio de Industria (aunque de poco valió) y por los probadores de la revista Motor Mundial. Como tantas otras iniciativas de aquellos años para modernizar el país, careció de apoyo oficial, lo que, unido a la muerte de Aymerich, puso fin a la historia de este cochecillo que bien pudo llegar a ser el "seiscientos" de los años cuarenta y cincuenta. Se desconocen las características técnicas del coche; sólo se sabe que se trataba de un descapotable de dos plazas (quizás con otras dos plazas pequeñas atrás), de dos puertas con capota abatible, motor delantero y que, según sus fabricantes, todos sus componentes eran de origen local. Es posible que este coche sea una evolución del , un pequeño microcoche del año 1935 fabricado también por Aymerich. (es)
