- The 78th Regiment, (Highland) Regiment of Foot also known as the 78th Fraser Highlanders was a British infantry regiment of the line raised in Scotland in 1757, to fight in the Seven Years' War (also known as the French and Indian War in the US.). The 78th Regiment was one of the first three Highland Regiments to fight in North America. (en)
- Le 78e Fraser Highlanders servit durant la guerre de Sept Ans en Amérique de 1756 à 1763. Il joua un rôle important dans différentes batailles, soit la prise le Louisbourg en 1758 et les trois batailles - celles de Beauport et des plaines d'Abraham en 1759 et celle de Sainte-Foy en 1760 - à Québec. Le régiment fut dissous en Écosse à la suite de la signature du traité de Paris en 1763. Cependant plusieurs soldats de ce régiment, après avoir demandé la permission au gouverneur Murray, s'installèrent dans ce qui devint la province de Québec, se mariant avec des canadiennes et s'intégrant dans la population locale.
