- The 40th Heli Squadron (Dutch: 40ste Smaldeel Heli, French: 40 Escadrille Héli) is a helicopter squadron of the Air Component based at Koksijde Air Base. It is dedicated to search and rescue, anti-submarine warfare and troop transportation operations. It operates four NH90 NFH helicopters. Before the arrival of the NH90 NFH the squadron operated Westland Sea King and Alouette III helicopters on behalf of the Maritime Component, the Squadron embarks a helicopter on F930 Leopold I and F931 Louise-Marie - Karel Doorman class frigates when sailing on deployment and has also have had helicopter embarked on Dutch frigates as well (en)
- La 40e escadrille d'hélicoptères (40ste smaldeel Heli en néerlandais) est une escadrille d'hélicoptères appartenant à la composante air de l'armée belge, basée sur la base aérienne de Coxyde, dans la ville du même nom, dans la province de Flandre-Occidentale. Elle est spécialisée dans les opérations recherche et sauvetage (Search and Rescue SAR) et particulièrement dans le sauvetage en mer et opère avec des Sea King Mk-48 qui sont en cours de remplacement par des NHIndustries NH-90 NFH depuis 2014. Elle est à différencier de l'IKWV, l'intercommunale des services de secours des plages de Flandre-Occidentale, qui elle s'occupe de la surveillance des plages et des prompts secours donnés au baigneurs et aux usagers.
