- Die WHL-Saison 2019/20 war die 54. Spielzeit der Western Hockey League. Die reguläre Saison begann am 20. September 2019 und sollte am 22. März 2020 enden. Im Anschluss waren die Playoffs um den Ed Chynoweth Cup geplant, jedoch wurde der Spielbetrieb aufgrund der Pandemie des Corona-Virus am 12. März 2020 unterbrochen. Schließlich verkündete die Canadian Hockey League am 23. März 2020, dass die Spielzeiten von OHL, LHJMQ und WHL endgültig abgebrochen werden und auch der anschließende Memorial Cup nicht stattfindet. - The 2019–20 WHL season was the 54th season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The regular season began on September 20, 2019, and was scheduled to end on March 22, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America the regular season was suspended on March 12, 2020, and cancelled six days later along with the playoffs. This season was the first season for the Winnipeg Ice after being moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, from Cranbrook, British Columbia. The post-season was scheduled to begin on March 27, 2020, in which sixteen teams would have competed for the Ed Chynoweth Cup and be crowned champions of the WHL. (en)
