- La MasterCard Hopman Cup XXXI correspon a la 31a edició de la Copa Hopman de tennis entre països. Vuit països participen en el Grup Mundial amb equips mixtos, una dona i un home. Aquesta edició es va disputar entre el 29 de desembre de 2018 i el 5 de gener de 2019 al de Perth, Austràlia, sobre pista dura interior. L'equip suís, format per Belinda Bencic i Roger Federer, va reeditar el títol aconseguit en l'edició anterior, esdevenint la primera parella que defensava amb èxit aquest títol. Aquesta victòria va significar el quart títol per Suïssa (1992, 2001 i 2018), i concretament el tercer per Federer que va esdevenir el tennista amb més títols. (ca)
- Hopman Cup 2019, oficiálně se jménem sponzora MasterCard Hopman Cup 2019, představoval 31. ročník Hopmanova poháru, turnaje smíšených družstev v tenisu, kterého se tradičně účastnilo osm týmů. Událost s rozpočtem 1 000 000 australských dolarů se konala v perthské RAC aréně na dvorci se zatahovací střechou, na němž byl položen tvrdý povrch Plexicushion. Kapacita stadionu pro tenisové zápasy oficiálně činila 12 489 diváků. Turnaj probíhal v termínu od 29. prosince 2018 do 5. ledna 2019, jakožto první událost nové sezóny. Mezinárodní tenisová federace soutěž označuje jako Oficiální mistrovství ITF smíšených družstev (Official Mixed Teams Championships of the ITF). Generálním sponzorem se potřetí stala společnost MasterCard. Potřetí turnaj uplatnil formát tzv. Fast4 tenisu zkrácených setů, a to v zápasech smíšené čtyřhry. Poprvé ve svých kariérách k soutěžnímu zápasu proti sobě nastoupili vítěz dvaceti grandslamů Roger Federer a třiadvacetinásobná grandslamová šampionka z dvouhry Serena Williamsová. V novoroční vyhráli Švýcaři Federer s Bencicovou nad Tiafoem s Williamsovou ve dvou setech a rozhodli o celkovém vítězství 2:1 na zápasy. Tento mezistátní zápas Švýcarska a Spojených států navštívila nejvyšší návštěva v historii tenisových utkání ma území Západní Austrálie, když do RAC Areny zavítalo 14 064 diváků. Obhájcem titulu z roku 2018 bylo Švýcarsko, jehož reprezentanti Belinda Bencicová s Rogerem Federerem v předchozím finále přehráli německé družstvo ve složení Angelique Kerberová a Alexander Zverev 2:1 na zápasy. Do finále 2019 se provojovala stejná družstva ve shodném složení. Švýcaři Federer s Bencicovou porazili německé reprezentanty Zvereva s Kerberovou 2–1 na zápasy, když opět rozhodl až závěrečný mix. V tiebreaku třetí rozhodující sady nevyužili Němci za stavu míčů 4:3 mečbol. Po srovnání na 4:4 následoval tzv. rozhodující míč, s mečbolem pro oba týmy. Federer využil podání a švýcarský pár po zvládnuté výměně na síti obhájil trofej, jež znamenala čtvrtý titul pro zemi helvetského kříže. 37letý Federer se stal prvním účastníkem Hopman Cupu s třemi turnajovými vítězstvími. On 26 June 2018, the defending Swiss team of Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic and 2018 finalist German team of Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber were announced as the first teams for the 2019 tournament. On 15 August 2018, the teams of Greece and Spain were announced. For the first time in history, Roger Federer and Serena Williams faced each other in a competitive event. Federer came out victorious alongside Bencic in the mixed doubles rubber. This match also attracted a Perth Arena record tennis crowd of 14,064, which was the highest attendance for a tennis match in Western Australian history. Switzerland successfully defended their title, beating Germany in a repeat of the previous year's final. This was Federer's 3rd Hopman Cup title, the most by any player, male or female. (en)
