- The 2018 Motocross des Nations was a motocross race held on 6 October and 7 October 2018. The event was held at the Red Bud circuit, in Michigan, United States. Motocross des Nations was last held in United States in but never at this venue. France went into the event as the defending champions after taking their fifth title in 2017 and successfully defended their title. (en)
- De 72e Motorcross der Naties werd verreden op 7 oktober 2018 in het Amerikaanse Buchanan, Michigan, op het RedBud-circuit. Van de dertig deelnemende landen mochten de twintig besten uit de kwalificaties deelnemen aan de finale. Negentien landen plaatsten zich via de kwalificaties op zaterdag, het twintigste land via de B-finale op zondagochtend. Elke ploeg bestaat uit drie rijders: één in de MXGP-klasse, één in de MX2-klasse, en één in de "Open" klasse, dus met vrije keuze van motor. De wedstrijd bestond uit drie reeksen waarin telkens twee rijders per land uitkwamen: resp. MXGP + MX2, MX2 + Open, en MXGP + Open. De puntenstand per land is de som van de vijf beste resultaten die de rijders in de reeksen behaalden, het slechtste resultaat werd geschrapt. In januari 2019 kwam de FIM met een herziene uitslag, nadat het Italiaanse team uit de uitslagen werd geschrapt; MX2-rijder Michele Cervellin reed met ongeoorloofde brandstof. - Il Motocross delle Nazioni 2018 (conosciuto anche con i nomi Motocross des Nations, Motocross of Nations o MXDN), evento giunto alla settantaduesima edizione, si è disputato a Buchanan negli Stati Uniti del 5 al 7 ottobre 2018. È stato vinto dalla Francia davanti a Paesi Bassi e Regno Unito. La squadra italiana, che concluse l'evento in seconda posizione, fu successivamente squalificata a causa di un'analisi effettuata sulla moto di uno dei suoi tre piloti che confermò l'utilizzo di un tipo di benzina irregolare da parte del suo team.
