- Εκλογές για κυβερνήτες έλαβαν χώρα σε 11 από τις συνολικά 26 της στις 26 Αυγούστου 2017, με έναν δεύτερο γύρο να διεξάγεται σε τρεις επαρχίες στις 29 Αυγούστου. Σε 3 επαρχίες δεν έγιναν εκλογές ως τις 21 Δεκεμβρίου 2017. Οι εκλογές έγιναν μετά την απόλυση αρκετών κυβερνητών. Αιτήσεις για υποψηφιότητες κατατέθηκαν στην Ανεξάρτητη Εθνική Εφορευτική Επιτροπή στο διάστημα από τις 21 ως τις 25 Ιουλίου 2017, με μία περίοδο εξέτασης των αιτήσεων από τις 26 ως τις 30 Ιουλίου. Στις 2 Αυγούστου, ο αριθμός των υποψηφίων δημοσιοποιήθηκε και τις επόμενες δύο ημέρες μπορούσαν να ασκήσουν εφέσεις. Applications of potential candidates were submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission from 21 to 25 July 2017, with a period for the review of the applications from 26 to 30 July. On August 2, the list of candidates was published and the following two days were granted for any appeals. More than half of the provinces were won by candidates of the Alliance of the Presidential Majority, though some went to independent opposition candidates.
