- مظاهرات لبنان لسنة 2001 أو أحداث 7 آب 2001 هي مظاهرات مناهضة للوصاية السورية في لبنان، انطلقت في 7 آب (أغسطس) 2001، فتحولت إلى أعمال عنف عندما حاول النظام الأمني اللبناني-السوري قمعها، مما أدى إلى ضرب المتظاهرين، واعتقال المئات من دون تبرير قانوني وذلك في عهد الرئيس إميل لحود الموالي لسوريا. في ذلك اليوم، هاجمت القوى الأمنية مئات الناشطين، معظمهم من الأحزاب المسيحية، كالتيار الوطني الحر، القوات اللبنانية، حزب الوطنيين الأحرار وآخرين محايدين، وذلك أمام قصر العدل في بيروت. يعتبر هذا اليوم نقطة تحول في تاريخ لبنان في المقاومة ضد الوجود السوري، التي بلغت ذروتها في ثورة الأرز عام 2005، التي أدت إلى الانسحاب السوري عام 2005. - In 7 August 2001 (Arabic: ٧ آب ٢٠٠١) an Anti-Syrian occupation demonstration took place in Lebanon, which turned violent when the joint Lebanese-Syrian security System tried to repress the revolt, and resulted in the arrest of hundreds without legal justification, during the tenure of the pro-Syrian president Emile Lahoud. On that day, the security forces attacked hundreds of young activists, mainly from the Chrsitian parties, including the Free Patriotic Movement, the National Liberal Party and other non-partisan neutral activists in front of the Justice Palace in Beirut and engaged in a campaign of beatings and arrests that was characterized by extreme ferocity. This day is considered a turning point in the history of Lebanon when the resistance against the Syrian presence in Lebanon has started, and climaxed in the 2005 Cedar Revolution which led to the complete Syrian withdrawal in 2005.
