- The 1999 Division 1 season was the 34th of the competition of the first-tier football in Senegal. The tournament was organized by the Senegalese Football Federation. The season began on January 10 and finished on 19 September 1999. ASC Jeanne d'Arc won the seventh title and participated in the 2000 CAF Champions League the following year. ASEC Ndiambour participated in the 2000 CAF Cup of Cups and Compagnie sucrière sénégalaise in the 2000 CAF Winners' Cup. Four clubs would relegate into Division 2 the following season and the number of clubs in Division 1 was reduced to twelve. ASEC Ndiambour was the defending team of the title. A total of 14 clubs participated in the competition. The season featured 183matches and scored 305 goals. (en)
- La saison 1999 du Championnat du Sénégal de football est la trente-quatrième édition de la première division au Sénégal. Les quatorze meilleures équipes du pays sont regroupées au sein d'une poule unique où elles s'affrontent deux fois, à domicile et à l'extérieur. À l'issue du championnat, les quatre derniers du classement sont relégués et remplacés par les deux meilleurs clubs de Division 2 afin de faire passer le championnat à 12 formations à partir de la saison prochaine. C'est l'ASC Jeanne d'Arc qui remporte le championnat cette saison après avoir terminé en tête du classement final, avec sept points d'avance sur le tenant du titre, l'ASEC Ndiambour et dix sur la Compagnie sucrière sénégalaise. C'est le septième titre de champion du Sénégal de l'histoire du club. Le vainqueur du championnat se qualifie pour la Coupe des clubs champions africains tandis que le vainqueur de la Coupe du Sénégal obtient son billet pour la Coupe des Coupes. Enfin, le deuxième du championnat se qualifie pour la Coupe de la CAF. (fr)
