- General elections were held in British Honduras on 28 April 1954, the first held under universal suffrage. The new constitution replaced the Legislative Council with a Legislative Assembly, which had nine elected members, three officials and three appointed members. The result was a decisive victory for the pro-independence People's United Party, which won eight of the nine seats in a coalition with the General Workers' Union. The pro-colonial National Party won the remaining seat, with NP candidate prevailing in the Toledo constituency. (en)
- Les élections législatives de 1954 au Honduras britannique se sont tenues le 28 avril. Il s'agit des premières élections qui ont eu lieu au suffrage universel. La nouvelle constitution du Honduras britannique prévoit en effet le remplacement du Conseil législatif par une Assemblée législative composée de neuf membres élus, trois fonctionnaires et trois personnes nommées. Les élections se sont soldées par une victoire écrasante des indépendantistes du Parti uni du peuple, allié au Syndicat général des travailleurs, qui a remporté huit des neuf sièges. Zwycięstwo w nich uzyskała Zjednoczona Partia Ludowa (PUP), która zdobyła 8 mandatów. Skład Zgromadzenia Ustawodawczego uzupełniła . Premierem został George Cadle Price. (pl)

По новой Конституции Законодательный совет был заменён Законодательным собранием, в котором было девять избираемых членов, три должностных лица и три назначенных члена. В результате Народная объединённая партия, выступившая за независимость страны, которая выступала в коалиции со Всеобщим профсоюзом рабочих и торговцев, одержала убедительную победу, получив 8 из 9 мест. Проколониальная получила единственного депутата Чарльза Леви Уэстби, выигравшего в избирательном округе Толедо. (ru)
