- The Swan (tradotto in lingua italiana, Il Cigno) fu un teatro di Londra costruito e utilizzato durante l'età elisabettiana, ormai non più esistente. Sito a sud del Tamigi nel distretto di Southwark, vicino al più grande The Rose, venne costruito con molta probabilità intorno al 1595 - 1596. Tale data è stata desunta da un documento del novembre 1594 in cui il Lord Mayor della città di Londra reclamò contro il progetto di costruzione del The Swan che, unito alla mancanza di citazioni in qualsiasi documento precedente a tale data, fa presupporre che l'edificio venne eretto negli anni successivi. Był czwartym dużym teatrem w tym mieście, po The Theatre (1576), Curtain (1577), i (1587-8). Ze względu na fakt, iż miasto było zainteresowane redukcją liczby grup aktorskich w mieście, a także ze względu na zwiększającą się liczbę dużych, otwartych obiektów w mieście The Swan tylko przez krótki okres wystawiał sztuki teatralne. - The Swan was een van de theatergebouwen die in de bloeitijd van het vroege Engelse theater, de periode van Elizabeth I, met schrijvers als William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe en Ben Jonson, werd gebouwd in de Londense wijk Bankside in Southwark, op de zuidelijke oever van de Theems. The Swan werd gebouwd in 1595-1596 door de theaterondernemer Francis Langley en was het vierde theatergebouw in deze wijk, na The Theatre (1576) en The Curtain (1577) van James Burbage en The Rose (1587) van Philip Henslowe.
